But before we tell you what we do, it helps to understand why we are called what we are called.

It is a question we get often. The name is intentional.
In almost every field, engineering, science, manufacturing, business, the people who create real change are rarely the ones who follow established rules. They see different ways forward. They have the conviction to pursue them, even when the path is unclear or unconventional. That is the black sheep.
That is how we think at Blacksheep Vietnam.
Being a black sheep does not mean operating without structure. It means knowing which rules to break and which to hold.
Breaking rules without discipline creates chaos. Following rules without flexibility prevents anything new from being made. The balance between the two is what makes Blacksheep Vietnam function — and what makes the work we produce reliable, precise, and technically credible.
That balance shows up in everything: the products we build, the problems we take on, and the standards we hold ourselves to.
Blacksheep Vietnam was founded by Mark Gilligan, who previously spent two decades building Blacktrace Holdings — one of the UK's leading advanced science and engineering groups, including Dolomite Microfluidics and Particle Works.
That foundation shapes how we work. As Mark puts it:
"I strive to do things that have never been done before and at the leading edge of what can be done."
That is the standard Blacksheep Vietnam was built to meet.
